Campbell: W-W Best Football Team We've Faced

October 16, 2008

Red Devil Head Coach Larry Campbell had nothing but praise for the team that his Devils will face this Friday night in Lincolnton.

The Lincoln Journal: Campbell: "Their skill players are unbelievable. By far, this is the best football team we've faced to date."

The Atlanta newspaper cites the game as one of the state's best rivalry games.

The Augusta Chronicle: Bye Week Came at Opportune Time

And The Lincoln Journal offered us a chance to say a few (ok, many) words about "The Perfect Rivalry".

But yes, there are othe games of interest this Friday night. Nearby, the Brickyard will see the Buford Wolves come visiting against the Thomson Bulldogs. Buford is #1 in Class AA, and will be a tough foe for the homestanding T-Dawgs. This will be the Wolves first visit to the area since a visit to Lincolnton in 2001.

In Class A, there's a big showdown in Region 3B when Johnson County travels to Twin City to face #1 and defending champ ECI. The Bulldogs super running back Washaun Ealey needs one TD to tie the all-time state record. Both teams are undefeated.

In Region 7-A, Aquinas is at Wilkinson County, and Hancock Central makes the short trip to Warrenton to face the Screaming Devils.
