Class A perennial contender Clinch County took a 14-7 halftime lead in Twin City by holding ECI super running back Washaun Ealey to 19 yards in the first half. But the young man more than made up for the slow start with 4 touchdowns (runs of 3, 59, 25, and 46) in the last half enroute to a 33-21 win. Bremen ended Athens Academy season with a 28-20 win in west Georgia. [Game Story]
Savannah Christian, the team that almost upset ECI early in the year, lost to Miller County 20-13. The game was tied going into the fourth quarter before the Pirates connected on two long touchdown passes. [Game Story]
Turner County defeated previously-unbeaten Brookstone 20-14. Turner's defense stopped Brookstone's rushing attack and jumped to a 14-0 halftime lead. [Game Story]
Wesleyan defeated Holy Innocents 21-7, reversing a 7-6 loss in September.
Wilkinson County whipped Whitefield Academy 38-8 in the most lopsided game of the Class A second round. The Warriors speed proved too much for the Wolfpack. The Warriors grabbed 3 interceptions, including one returned for a TD. They also returned the second half kickoff 68 yards for a TD to increase their 12-0 halftime margin. [Game Story]
