Red Devils Have 3rd Toughest Schedule in Class A

August 20, 2010

According to the Maxwell Ratings as reported by the GHSF Daily newsletter, our Red Devils have the third toughest schedule in Class A this season.

Who has the toughest, according to the Maxwell computer? Those Tigers next door in Washington. Part of the reason is that they play AAA teams Thomson and Oconee County, and Class A playoff teams Holy Innocents and Commerce, in their non-region schedule. Then their region schedule adds contenders Wilkinson County, Twiggs County, and Warren County. And let's not forget W-W has to visit Lincolnton October 15.

Turner County is 2nd with a murderer's row of games in October: visit to the Swamp for Charlton County's Homecoming, then Clinch County at home, followed by a visit to Rochelle to play the defending state champs Wilcox County.

Region 7-A schools Twiggs County and Wilkinson County are 4th and 5th on the toughest schedule list.

Maxwell ranks Region 7-A as the second toughest region in Class A. Region 2-A, with Charlton, Wilcox, and Clinch, is understandably seen as the best.
