10/15 Recap: Aquinas, Wilkinson Roll Again

The Aquinas Irish continued to light up the scoreboard last Friday night in a 47-13 rout of Jeff Davis in Hazlehurst. Jeff Davis is a Class AA school that is playing a non-region schedule. Wilkinson County whipped its southern neighbor Twiggs County 47-6.

Warren County also joined in the high scoring with a 41-6 rundown of Hancock Central.

Athens Academy won a big battle in Region 8-A, 28-21 over Commerce. That leaves those two teams plus George Walton Academy and Prince Avenue Christian at the top of 8-A with a single region loss each.

Darlington handed Bowdon one of its worst region losses in years, 42-14, and Trion hammered Walker 42-0 as those two schools head those a showdown in 6-A.

In 5-A, Eagles Landing Christian pounded Landmark Christian 49-3. ELCA and idle Wesleyan lead the all-private-school region.

Marion County remained undefeated with a 40-6 win over Central Talbotton. Greenville nipped Taylor County 14-13, and Hawkinsville beat Macon County 34-15 in 4-A.

The two top teams in 3-A remained perfect with Johnson County beating Treutlen 42-22 and Savannah Christian defeating Claxton 37-14. In this split region, those two leaders don't play each other. Johnson holds the tiebreaker edge.

Clinch County (48-6 over Lanier County), Wilcox County (49-0 over Turner County), and Charlton County (59-7 over Telfair County) all rolled in 2-A.

Miller County outran Calhoun County 36-6 in 1-A.
