Banks Named New Red Devil Head Coach

July 27, 2014

Long-time Red Devil assistant Kevin Banks has been named the new Lincoln County head football coach.

Banks, the Devils' defensive coordinator the past several seasons, was the overwhelming choice of players to take over the program after Larry Campbell's retirement this past spring.

Football practice has already begun, as the Devils prepare for an August 15 scrimmage against Lakeside at Buddy Bufford Field. The season official begins August 22 in McCormick.

Banks follows not one but three legends as the head man on the Devil sideline. Buddy Bufford, Thomas Bunch, and Larry Campbell each had perfect seasons, region championships, and state championships during their tenures over the past 57 seasons. Coach Banks, his staff, and his players will need what those three men received, if they are to continue their outstanding football tradition: great community support.
