The Lincoln County Red Devils won last Friday's scrimmage at Lakeside 10-3 in three quarters of varsity action.
This week they will face the strong running attack of McCormick in the season opener for both teams.
From reports, the Devils played fairly well and held a 10-0 lead at the break. As is usual with pre-season scrimmages, the coaches had plenty to complain about and work on in their final days of preparation for the opener this week.
The Chiefs from across the Savannah River will invade Buddy Bufford Field this Friday night to try to pull off their first win over the Devils in over 40 years. They return their offensive star who rambled for nearly 2,000 yards a year ago.
Kickoff for the 2015 season is set for 7:30 in Larry Campbell Stadium. Weather forecasts call for a hot, sweltering night in Olde Lincoln Town.
