Junior Devils start their 2002 season with 20-7 win over Class AAAAA Evans.
Lincoln's Junior Varsity scored first, ending their first drive with a 55-yard flanker reverse by speedy 8th grader Josh Whimbush. The PAT failed, leaving the Devils a 6-0 lead.
Shawntavius Jennings scored on a 50-yard off-tackle play that put the young Devils up 12-0 at the half. Brandon Reed scored up the middle from 40 yards out late in the third quarter. A two-point conversion gave the Lincoln Lads a 20-0 lead over the guy from Columbia County. Evans scored in the fourth to make the final score 20-7. Coach Kevin Blizzard said, "Evans looked good and physical overall, and the game was closer than the score indicated."
