Lincoln County assured itself of a playoff game at Buddy Bufford Field with a 48-0 shellacking of Johnson County in Wrightsville Friday night. The Devils went to the air, with 4 passing TDs, to overcome the loss of its 3 top running backs. Steven Brown caught 3 touchdown passes totalling 76 yards, and Travis Clark threw 3 TD passes as part of his 104 passing yards. Cordarryl Coppin returned after missing one game with a foot injury to pass for 1 TD and run for another.
Lincoln County is now 9-0 on the season, and 3-0 in "revenge" games from 2002. But the big one remains - a trip to Jeffersonville to take on the Twiggs County Cobras in "The Pit" for the 7-A title and a better playoff seeding.

In other Region 7-A action, Warren County whipped the GMC Bulldogs 36-0 to strengthen its playoff chances as the #3 seed in 7-A. Twiggs County had an open date, and Aquinas defeated non-region opponent Long County 22-8.
The Class A playoff picture has become clearer. Landmark Christian made it clear that it ruled 5-A as it handed Bowdon one of its worst losses in a long time, 41-0. Trion and Bremen went into overtime before Trion won 21-20 to settle the top spot in 6-A. Dooly County defeated Wheeler County 18-12 to grab the second see in 4-A, with Wheeler probably finishing third. Pacelli clinched the 2-A title with a 35-14 win over Taylor County. Athens Academy's visit to the Social Circle graveyard on Halloween also went into overtime before the Trojans won 20-14 in 8-A.
