Devil Cagers End Superb Seasons!

The Lincoln County Boys went further than any boys basketball team since at least the 1980s before falling to defending state champ Whitefield Academy Saturday in the second round. Click here for the full Class A Boys bracket.

Congratulations to the Red Devil Boys on a great season!

The Boys finished the regular season with a great 15-3 record, 12-4 in 7-A play. The Devils upset Twiggs County 74-60 in the region semifinals and then beat Warren County in the finals. Their next game will be February 27 at 5:30 against Whitefield Academy, a 76-40 over Athens Academy. In the first State round last Friday, the Boys beat Galloway 62-42, as Jeremy Mickens scored 19.

The Girls ended their regular season with a stellar 16-4 record, 15-1 in the region. The Devil Ladies beat Warren County 54-40 in the 7-A semifinals before losing to Twiggs in the region tourney finale. Ranked 12th in a recent state Class A poll, the Girls lost a nailbiter to Trion 44-42 in the State Tourney first round Feb. 21. For Friday night info, click here.
