Junior Varsity Whips W-W Kittens 28-14

August 29, 2004

Lincoln County's Junior Devils got their 2004 season off the in the best possible way -- a strong win over the Tiger JV from Washington!

JV Head Coach Kevin Blizzard provided us with the details of this great win:

The Junior Devil Defense forced W-W to punt on their first possession, with our Devils driving 60 yards using toss sweeps and fullback dives. Tyler Beale, son of Coach Billy and Luann Beale, scored on a fullback dive from 5 yards out for a 6-0 lead.

The Tiger punter got plenty of practice, as the Devil D shutdown the Tiger offense most of the game. The LC offense continued to drive in the second quarter, scoring on a 20-yard toss sweep by Ricardo Norman. Rontae Norman completed a quarterback bootleg for a successful 2-point conversion for a 14-point lead.

Another W-W posession = another Tiger punt. With 5 seconds left in the half, QB Rontae Norman tossed a 60-yard touchdown pass to Austin Reed. Josh Holliman booted the PAT for a 21-0 Lincoln County lead at the intermission.

The Red Devil Offense had more fun in the third quarter, with Ricardo Norman scoring on a toss sweep. Holliman's PAT gave the Devils an insurmountable 28-0 advantage.

The Red Devils then emptied the bench with every remaining player getting some playing time in the third and fourth quarters. The Kittens scored 2 touchdowns on the Devil's second and third strings for a final 28-14 margin.

The Junior Varsity hosts Evans this Thursday at 5:30. Get to Buddy Bufford Field and cheer on the Junior Devils!!
