If you didn't see it in Friday's In The Huddle Section, click here for a great story on Garrison Hearst by The Augusta Chronicle's new prep sports editor Jeff Sentell.
In the article, Doobie talks about his first varsity start (yes - he scored a TD to win game) and his career. The story is part of the Chronicle's "Legends of the Fall" series.
Garrison is now with the Denver Broncos. Click here for his profile on their site, which begins: "Garrison Hearst, entering his 12th year in the league, has proven to be one of the toughest, most resilient players in the NFL."
Those in Lincolnton know running ability runs through the Hearst bloodlines. We understand there's a new speedster now beginning to play in Lincoln's youth program.
By the way, Jeff Sentell was that tall guy with the clipboard on Lincoln County's sideline during much of the Burke County game. He's new to the area, but learning fast which side of the field he should be on.
