October 22, 2004

31 points. 31st region title. 30 straight wins over Warren County. #30 two pass interceptions.

Lincoln County capitalized on 4 of the Screaming Devils' 6 turnovers to shutout Warren County 31-0 in Warrenton Friday night. The win earns the Red Devils the 2004 Region 7-A title and home field in the first two rounds of the playoffs.

The 2004 season is the 31st time in the last 32 years that our Red Devils have won at least 8 games in a season. The 2004 region title is the 31st for the Devils, and 26th in the last 31 years.

Two great runs of 33 and 15 yards by Gavin Williams in the first 13 minutes put the Red Devils up by 12 points. His second TD capped a 98-yard drive on 10 plays that showed the Devils' dominance.

Gavin finished the night with 83 yards on 10 carries. Shawntavius Jennings got loose on 5 good runs to up his game total to 81 yards on 9 carries. Freshman Tyler Beale rushed 6 times for 53 yards.

Cord Coppin had a good night passing, completing 7 of 9 attempts for 89 yards and two touchdowns (10 yards each to Jatheus Jones and Alex Bradford). The Devils' fourth team added a 17-yard touchdown run by Franklin Jones.

Sophomore Rontae Norman had a very busy night with two interceptions, two runs, and two punts for a 32-yard average. Another sophomore, Alex Bradford, intercepted a pass and also caught 3 of ours for 22 yards and the TD. Many sophomores and freshmen got valuable playing time that will serve our Devils well later. Keep your eyes on these and the current eighth grade class.
