Devils Shutout GMC 41-0, Will Host First Playoff Game

Lincoln County continued its winning ways with a dominating 41-0 win over GMC. The Devils held the Bulldogs to a negative 13 yards of offense on the night.

Shawntavious Jennings scored from 4 yards out late in the first half. On the Bulldogs first play from scrimmage after that, CJ Norman recovered a fumble and ran it 30 yards to the endzone for a Devil TD. Jatheus Jones caught a 41-yard pass from Cord Copping.

Coppin then found Steven Brown on the right sideline. Steven walked the sideline tightrope to get in during the 31-yard pass play. Norman added a 4-yard TD run before Franklin Jones rambled for 34 and the final TD. Chase McGill made 4 of 5 PAT atttempts. Jennings led the Devil rushers with 71 yards and a TD on 9 carries.

The Devils will play host to Our Lady of Mercy next Friday at Buddy Bufford Field. The Fairburn Catholic school edged Mt Zion 13-12 for their first 2004 win and fourth place in Region 5-A.
