Red Devils Beat Hancock Central, Johnson County as Coach Beale Nears Major Coaching Milestone

The Lincoln County Diamond Devils won two more games this week to improve their season record to 11-3 overall and 2-0 in Region 7-A. Our Devils nipped Johnson County 5-4 and bombed Hancock Central 15-0 to continue their winning season.

Head Coach Billy Beale is nearing a major milestone in his baseball coaching career as he approaches 400 wins.

Tyler Beale pitched a one-hitter to lead the Red Devils to a region 7A victory over Hancock Central. The game was called after three innings due to the mercy rule. Cordarryl Coppin opened the game with a single and Beale was hit by a pitch. Both runners then scored on a hit by Dontai Parks. In the second inning, Cody Beggs, Alex Bradford and Coppin all singled to score two runs. Danny Williford followed with a double and Brandon Barden tripled to drive in three more LC runs. The Devils scored eight more runs in the third inning to end the game. Casey Norman, Beggs, Bradford, Williford, Beale and Barden all singled to score six runs. Norman then doubled for his second hit of the inning and scored on Beggs second hit of the inning. The defensive highlight of the game was a sensational catch in left field by Rontae Norman in the bottom of the third. The April 12 win improved the Devils record to 10-3 and 2-0 in Region 7A.
