Washington-Wilkes whipped Warren County 39-20 to earn the #2 seeding from Region 7-A, while Portal, losing its second game, must now travel to face Hawkinsville.
W-W scored 26 unanswered points to overcome a 20-13 halftime lead and beat Warren County 39-20 to decide the 2nd and 3rd seeds in 7-A. At the same time, Commerce was defeating Athens Academy to earn 8-A's #2 seed. Those results mean Athens Academy must play in Washington, and Warren County must play in Commerce in first round action.
Portal was upset by Savannah Country Day to shake up the Region 3-A standings. Portal now slips to third in the region, and must travel to Hawkinsville next Friday to play one of the Defending Co-Champions of Class A.

In a huge game scheduled for Thomson next Friday, Washington County will visit the Bulldogs in a battle between two of the best in Class AAA over the past several years.
