Friday Night Cooking

November 15, 2005

We understand it started as a one-time event, but with a promise. The townfolk put together a barbeque buffet to treat the Red Devils players, cheerleaders, and coaches after the Commerce game. The promise: you keep winning, and we'll keep cooking after home games.

Our Red Devils are now 9-0, and they leave Buddy Bufford Field with a full stomach. The extended tailgating also has the additional benefit of providing a great place to talk about the game before kickoff, and chat about the outcome after the final whistle.

This cookout is made possible by the generous support, in time and money, of many persons from the Red Devil Faithful.

We've been told that the chief organizer of this great effort is Price McWhorter, a former Red Devil player and current Cheer Devil Dad. Price, pictured above at his super-grill getting the scrumptious meats cooking before the Gordon Lee game, is very active in the Lincolnton community.

On behalf of everyone who has enjoyed the after-game chow-down, THANKS TO ALL THOSE that make it possible!
