AJC All-State: Chase McGill, Shawntavius Jennings, Brandon Barden; Campbell Class A Coach of the Year

Senior Red Devil Chase McGill has been named to the AJC Class A All-State Team as an offensive lineman.

On the Atlanta newspaper's honorable mention team, senior Shawntavius Jennings was named as a linebacker, and junior Brandon Barden was named as a quarterback.

Lincoln County head coach Larry Campbell was named by the AJC as the Class A Coach of the Year. After starting 0-3 for the first time in 50 years, Coach Campbell and the coaching staff certainly did an amazing coaching job, leading the Devils to 12 straight wins and the Class A title.

Also of interest on the AJC list: Markeith Wylie of Class A runner-up Washington-Wilkes was named the Class A defensive player of the year. The Tigers' Casey Nickels was named to the All-State team as an offensive lineman. Warren County sophomore Tommy Seals was the Class A all-state punter.

Greene County's Josh Nesbitt was named the Class AA offensive player of the year and QB on the AA team. Two other Greene County players were named to the first-team AA offense.

The Georgia Sportswriters Association also named their All-State Teams and Coaches. Chase and Shawntavius are named there in the same positions as by AJC.
