A Devil in Gainesville

February 19, 2006

As I have in the past, I like to share some of my trips with my website friends. On Friday, February 10, a friend and I travelled through Gainesville on our way to Gatlinburg. This was my first visit to Gainesville, but I knew where we wanted to have lunch: The Longstreet Café.

We arrived about 11:30, and the parking lot was nearly full! The food and service were great.

If you don't recognize the gentleman in the photos, he's a former Red Devil quarterback and kicker from the early part of The Campbell Years, and Thomas Bunch's youngest son. Tim said he's been in the restaurant business in Gainesville for over 25 years, and we now understand why his efforts have been successful.

The top photo is from the entryway of the restaurant, showing some Red Devil highlights. The one below is of Tim in the main sitting area, with some of his frequent lunch customers.

When you're in the Gainesville area, please visit The Longstreet Café for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and tell them Tradition sent you.

For more info, visit their website: Longstreet Café.

Our thanks to Tim for his great hospitality!
