Monticello, Hancock Have Tough Games

Region 7-A teams and other notable schools look to tougher contests in the third week of the 2006 season.

Athens Academy from 8-A hosts Monticello from 7-A in a game that should give LC fans an idea what the Hurricanes have swirling in 2006. Aquinas visits Harlem, and Hancock Central hosts Putnam County.

Warren County hosts Swainsboro in another big test for the Screaming Devils and their new coach.

Johnson County, ranked second in some polls, looks to have a big test this week when the Trojans (2-A) travel to Twin City to play ECI. The Bulldogs, from Region 3-A, have been very strong in their first two games, including a 68-14 win over Class AA Metter.

Bowdon hosts their in-county rival Central of Carrollton. Commerce visits Banks County. Clinch County and Miller County each hope to get their first win of the season after two losses; Clinch hosts Pelham and Miller hosts Bacon County.
